OUR ASSOCIATION
The Alliance Française de Lyon, founded in 1984, is a non profit making organisation. In this function the Alliance de Lyon has at its head a President supported by an Office and a Board of Directors whose members are all volunteers.
The school of the Alliance Française de Lyon is managed by a management team composed of a Director, a teaching and administrative officers. The school employs 21 teachers, all graduates in French foreign language teaching, as well as 7 administrative staff, also qualified in their area of expertise.
In addition to administrating courses and its mission of promoting French culture, the AF Lyon AF organizes many cultural events for the benefit of its students, its members and the general public !
WHO ARE THE STUDENTS OF THE ALLIANCE FRANÇAISE DE LYON ?
The students and professionals selecting to study at the Alliance Française de Lyon are between the ages of 18 and 70 years and come from all over the world. The AF Lyon opens its doors to all those who wish to become French speakers and offers excellent teaching, and courses and services a la carte.

It is 25 years that the Alliance Française de Lyon has been welcoming foreign students from over 120 different nationalities, wishing to learn the French language (or to improve their practice of the language) and to discover our culture.
The Alliance Française de Lyon, placed as the second most important Alliance in France and the fifth in Europe, has over the years acquired the best teaching tools and fulfil the demands of its learners in an increasingly more efficient way. Eager to radiate our beautiful culture, the Alliance Française de Lyon is also a key cultural player in Lyon and organizes artistic, literary and poetic events throughout the year. Our institution aspires to be outstanding, innovative and to stay ahead by introducing new projects of development and modernisation: multimedia room, TBI, e-learning, communication tools.
Our institution evolves constantly through the efforts of our staff but also through the members of the Association. We wish to go even further and to do this we need you.
That is why we invite you to join our association. Be aware that your membership allows you access to all cultural activities organized by the Alliance Française de Lyon (exhibitions, conferences, performances, workshops...). If you wish it you can also offer your skills, and dedicate some of your time as volunteer, and in this way contribute to the development and efficiency of the institution.
