Our teaching is organised around four essential skills: listening comprehension, written comprehension, oral expression and written expression. The Alliance Française de Lyon uses the following course material: Alter Ego 1, 2 and 3(these books are available for about 24€ at the secretary office), Alliance Française de Lyon printed notes; Alter Ego 1, 2 and 3 or Current printed notes for evening courses.

We suggest that you take a general French course and in addition optional complementary courses (workshops in phonetics, in grammar, in the development of oral and writing skills, etc.).

In addition to general French courses, we offer workshops that are designed to introduce you to the French and their culture covering a diversity of themes such as French literature, street French (slang and popular language), traditional parlour games, wine and gastronomy, the press, French literature or even the history and culture of France, etc.

Moreover, we offer you a large variety of free services wich will help you understand french language and culture: Brand new computer and multimedia space, library (opening hours), WIFI, tutoring, cultural activities, intern social network Af Lyon Bonjour etc.
