• Compulsory examination : 65€
• Optional examination : 35€ per test

Established in 1999, the Test de Connaissance du Français (TCF), developed by the CIEP is a linguistic level test in general language French open to the general public without specific preparation.

The TCF is presented as a multiple choice set of questions comprising 80 items.

The compulsory test cover:

• Oral comprehension
• Command of grammatical structures
• Written comprehension

The marking of the TCF is centralized at the CIEP. The TCF places the candidates on the scale of the levels defined by the European Council. There are also two optional creative written and oral tests (duration of tests: 2h).

1. *REGISTRATION RULES:

REGISTRATION WILL BE OPEN ON THE SECOND WEEK OF THE MONTH PREVIOUS TO THE TEST AND WILL BE CLOSED ONE MONTH BEFORE THE DATE OF THE TEST.

For example : For October session, registration will be opened from the 12th of September 2011 and will be closed on the 30th of September.

Important : The number of places is limited, you have to sign-up as soon as possible after the registration has started to ensure your spot.

Important : If you have already been enrolled for the TCF tests, you must wait 61 days to register again for a new session.

a) You can download the TCF registration form : and return the form filled and signed up along with the payment to our address as soon as possible after registration has started.

b) After your registration we will send you a "Convocation aux Epreuves du Test de Connaissance de Français" by mail. This notice will be requested when you take the TCF tests.

c) In order to forward your notice and your TCF certificate by mail, please attach to your form, two stamped and self-addressed envelopes (270x161 mm in size). Alternatively, you will have to personally fetch your notice and afterwards your certificate from the secretariat of the Alliance Française de Lyon.

2. NOTICE FOR THE TEST DE CONNAISSANCE EN FRANCAIS (TCF)

After receiving your notice, you are required to present yourself at the Alliance Française de Lyon, 11 rue pierre Bourdan, 69003 LYON.

Note : No candidate will be allowed to enter the room after the test has started.

There will be no registration refund in the case of absence.

NB : You must bring a black ballpoint pen.

You must bring your notice and as a control measure an identity document (passport, national identity card) will be required before the start of the tests.

Non-official identity documents will not be accepted.

New : The Alliance Française de Lyon suggest training at the TCF before each session..

The training is aimed for students at a level lower than the end of A2.

Duration of each training period : 12 hours

Days : Monday and Tuesday from 12:30 pm to 14:00 pm

Fee for each training period: 99€
