the Alliance Française de Lyon is situated in the heart of the city, in a very fortunate location: it is two hours from Paris, at the gateway of the Alps, of Provence and of the French Riviera. It is also in the heart of Europe: only one hour from Switzerland (Geneva) and two hours from Italy.

The Alliance Française de Lyon is a private higher education institution attended annually by more than 2,000 students from over 120 countries.

The Alliance Française de Lyon, founded in 1984, is a non profit making organisation, forming part of a network of more than 1000 branches worldwide.

In this function the Alliance de Lyon has at its head a President supported by an Office and a Board of Directors whose members are all volunteers. The school of the Alliance Française de Lyon is managed by a management team composed of a Director, a teaching and administrative officers. The school employs 21 teachers, all graduates in French foreign language teaching and possessing multiple skills, as well as 7 administrative staff, also qualified in their area of expertise.
